Volunteering at our Centre

Riding School Assistants (13 to 18yrs) - Require Riding School Assistant Certificate 

Adult Volunteers (19yrs plus) - Please email murtonequestriancentre@gmail.com for a Volunteer Application Form.

This role includes assisting with:

  • Mucking out stables
  • Catching and turning out horses
  • Grooming
  • Tacking up and untacking the horses
  • Plus many more jobs

Volunteering in this area is best done on a half or full day basis. This then allows us to plan more effectively.

Times are as follows Tuesday to Friday each week:

  • 9am till 12 noon 
  • 1pm - 5pm 
  • 5pm till 8pm

Weekend times are Saturday and Sunday:

  • 8am - 12 noon
  • 1pm - 5pm 

 

What skills do I need?

  • An interest in helping individuals including those with special needs to develop new skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Adaptability
  • Good sense of fun
  • Experience with horses is essential 
  • Riding School Assistant Award Certificate 

Riding School Assistant Training Sessions 

Every Friday 5pm till 7pm until 28th March 2hrs £15

2nd April onwards session will move to Wednesday 6-8pm 

Riding School Assistant booklets cost £5 and must be signed off after training has been completed and competance is shown in all aspects. ​
